New construction standards in Alanya: what will change
Updated requirements for the design of residential buildings will come into force in Alanya on April 1, 2025.
According to the decree published in the Official Gazette, the TS 825 standard “Rules for the thermal insulation of buildings” will become mandatory.
- Now, when designing buildings, not only winter heating but also summer cooling will be taken into account. Previously, attention was paid mainly to reducing heat loss during the cold period.
- For Alanya with its warm climate, this is especially relevant. The new standard will require significant changes in construction projects.
- In hot summer conditions, air conditioners are used everywhere, so improved thermal insulation will help reduce energy costs and make buildings more environmentally friendly.
- The implementation of the TS 825 standard is expected to reduce the annual energy consumption of buildings by more than 40% - from 120-150 kWh/m² to 70-90 kWh/m².
- From April 1, 2025, all new buildings must comply with these requirements. Projects without proper insulation will not receive licenses. This is important to consider for those planning to buy or build real estate in Alanya.
- The innovation is aimed at increasing energy efficiency throughout Turkey, providing significant savings for residents and a positive impact on the country's economy.
